Sharon Case is opening up about her character, Sharon Newman’s, mental health crisis on "The Young and the Restless." In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Case discussed Sharon's upcoming standalone episode, which will focus on her character's struggles.
“I think it’s a really, really good episode,” Case said. “It’s going to be very emotional, and it’s going to be very real.”
Sharon's Mental Health Crisis
Sharon has been struggling with her mental health for years. She has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has been taking medication to manage her symptoms.
However, in recent months, Sharon's mental health has taken a turn for the worse. She has been experiencing hallucinations and delusions, and she has been making increasingly erratic decisions.
In the standalone episode, Sharon will reach a breaking point. She will be admitted to a psychiatric hospital, where she will receive treatment for her mental illness.
