Kings Fall Short Despite Strong Start
The Kings drew first blood when Adrian Kempe netted a power-play goal just over four minutes into the opening period. However, the Oilers quickly responded with a pair of goals from Connor McDavid and Evander Kane to take the lead. The Oilers added to their advantage in the second period with a goal from Leon Draisaitl, while the Kings managed a power-play goal from Alex Iafallo to make it 3-2.
In the third period, the Oilers held on to their lead despite the Kings' pressure. McDavid sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with less than three minutes remaining, giving the Oilers a crucial two-game lead in the series.
The series now moves to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4, with Game 3 set for Sunday night at Crypto.com Arena.
